Bolts 91, Elastopainters 84

Bolts vs Elastopainters
It wasn't a completely bad day for the Meralco Bolts, after all. Hours after losing a key player in Jared Dillinger, the Bolts were all business, edging Rain or Shine 91-84 in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Bolts relegated injured Dillinger to the unrestricted free agent list with a verbal agreement that he wouldn't sign with any team. But without consulting any of the Meralco officials, Dillinger signed with Ginebra last 31 May.

Import Gani Lawal was more trusting and his local teammates were all too obliging, leading to Meralco's 101-92 victory over Columbian last 24 May in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lawal scored 25 points on just 16 shots, 20 less than in his initial game, while fellow starters Baser Amer, Trevis Jackson, Chris Newsome and Cliff Hodge all finished in double figures as the Bolts completed the wire-to-wire win.
